Black Hills Locator Map: This map shows the location of the Black Hills in Western South Dakota. The area in the green circle is about a day's driving time to Mt. Rushmore. Direct flights to Rapid City Regional Airport (RAP) originate in Denver, Minneapolis and Salt Lake City. Interstates 90 and 25 are the main feeder routes. US Highway 16 runs between the Black Hills and Yellowstone National Park. Some folks like to make lots of stops along the way while others prefer to drive right through. Adjust travel times according to your own habits.
