Time Needed:	About 40 minutes driving time through the canyo plus travel time to get there.
Best Time To Go:	Year round, but Fall colors can be spectacular. Midday, however in early morning or late evening the canyon is deep in shadows which provides some interesting photo opportunities..

Description: You can drive through Spearfish Canyon all year.	A drive through Spearfish Canyon is one of the three great Black Hills drives. In some parts of the canyon, the rim is nearly a thousand feet above the road which runs beside Spearfish Creek. Highlights are the Bridal Veil Falls, Homestake Power Station and Roughlock Falls which are about a mile off the main road at the head of the canyon. The park at Roughlock Falls is where the last scenes in the film "Dances With Wolves" was filmed. Also, look closely for an old railroad cut that climbs high up the east canyon wall.
