A highlight of the
Dahl Fine Arts Museum is the nation's only mural
of United States history painted by Bernard Preston Thomas. This
180-foot
oil-on-canvas spans 200 years of US history. Also see the Dakota Art
Gallery
and the Central Gallery. The current Dahl houses two galleries, a 156-seat theater and a number of classrooms, however a new home for the Dahl is currently under construction and is expected to be open in 2007. In addition to the permanent displays the Dahl also hosts temporary exhibitions by local artises and traveling exhibitions from time to time. A calendar may be found at (http://www.thedahl.org/).
