exhibit portion of the Museum of Geology is open almost every day of the
year; closing on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, and Easter.
During
the academic year, the Museum is open:

From Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, the Museum is open:

The Museum
of Geology has a collection of more than 250,000 vertebrate
fossils and 6,000 minerals. The collection emphasizes fossils from the
Black Hills and the Badlands from Jurassic and Cretaceous reptiles and
mammals. Also on display is a large collection of minerals including
all of those found in the Black Hills and surrounding areas.
The Museum of Geology
is both a teaching and a research facility and the staff is known to be
helpful to rock collectors looking for the locations specific
