| Highlights: |
120 Year Old Building, Log Cabin, Mining Equipment |
| Description: |
The 120-year-old courthouse is as much fun as the museum. The building,
one of the earliest brick buildings in the Black Hills was build in 1881
and was the working courthouse for Custer County for 92 years. The museum
houses a rock and mineral collection, antique mining tools, including a
sluice box and a rocker, and black smithing tools.
Nearby is the oldest
building in Custer County, a small log cabin, Dr. Flick's cabin. See: http://www.sdmuseums.org/sub_s/museum_page.php?museumid=20 |
