| Description: |
Basically, this is a collection of
authentic and historically significant Old-West buildings gathered up
from various locations in the Dakotas and Nebraska. Many of the
buildings were moved to the 14-acre site from elsewhere in the region
and restored to their original appearance.
The centerpiece is a 14-sided barn built in 1919, but
other buildings date from 1881, 1886 and 1892. The town also features
antique farm machinery, wagons, a steam locomotive and other period
exhibits. The town is also home to three movie stars: Buck, who played
"Cisco," in "Dances with Wolves" and Jim and Jake, the lead mules also
in "Dances with Wolves."
