Most of the entertainment you will find in the Black Hills is seasonal. Shows usually start having performances in the middle of May and generally wrap up the summer season by the end of September. Many, however, have even shorter seasons, so you should always ask before making plans to see a particular show before June 1st or after September 1st.

As a rule, adult tickets cost about $20. Children's tickets are generally half price. Shows which include dinners, such as the various chuckwagon dinner shows, usually costs slightly more than $20 for an adult ticket. Children ticket prices may vary with age.

In addition to the shows listed, some tourist attractions, such as the Reptile Gardens, have periodic shows. Storybook Island schedules story-telling hours on most days in the summer. Finally, every night in summer both Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse have lighting programs.
